Kick/Start

Our friend Vice Cooler from Hawnay Troof/XbXrX is working towards a killer compilation NFJM:030, a benefit LP for the orphans of Rwandan genocide. All profits of the LP go toward providing an education for the young women orphaned by the genocide. This is good news, for sure, and also good news is that this limited-to-400 copies LP seems like it will rule pretty much! Exclusive tracks from Mt. Eerie, Deerhoof, No Age, Frankie & The Outs, Explode Into Colors (rip) and tons more!

Check out the kickstarter page here for more info, and charge it to da game!!!!

seems like a limited edition exceeds the notion of a benefit.

what are the profits from 400 records anyway?

why not a limited edition of 4,000?

sorry about the truth.

you might have a point, and one i hadn't considered. technically, it might make more financial sense to make an unlimited product and have the possibility of reaping more profits.

but then wait, as you can see, this particular project is only 60% funded, having been up for about three weeks or so already, so there's a likelihood that the supply (400) is actually much greater than the demand. if the project isn't completely funded by the end of it's timeframe, all donations are nullified and the record doesn't even get made.

from pressing records before, i know that the cost to press around 400 records is under $2,000 depending on how you do it. so when i pledged $40 for a LP that likely cost $5-$8 to manufacture, I'm happy with the amount of profit being passed on to the charity that my friend is passionate about.

and that "sorry about the truth" shit? kinda dramatic.
